12- hour and 24-hour time

Converting from 12-hr to 24-hr time:

We have already learned this together, but let's do a little bit of revision:



1) Read the information below:

We have already learned how to read a clock. Do you remember? Do you remember the shorthand vs the longer hand on a clock? 




Anything in the AFTERNOON or NIGHT we change to 24-hour time. See the picture below:



Do you see how the AM times are written differently from the PM times?

^ The time shown on the clock is 9:15pm. But because it is in the evening, we must write it as 24-hour (21:15).

3. FEEDBACK ACTIVITY: Are you ready to practice? 

You need to create a conversion table. You will create a table on Google Docs, Word or written in your notebook to show you can change time from 12 to 24 hours.

For example: 


Make sure you write at least 10 conversions. You can choose any time of the day you wish. 


When you are finished, please take a screenshot or copy and paste your answers into this google doc. Please make sure you write your name.
